The nature of the content

The recipes and texts were generated and edited with AI tools under human review. Despite efforts at accuracy, there may be errors, omissions or outdated information.

Food safety and allergens - please read

Cooking involves food safety, allergens and personal judgement. Check every ingredient against your own dietary needs and allergies before cooking.

Follow safe food-handling practice, especially with meat, fish, eggs and dairy: correct internal temperatures, proper refrigeration and no cross-contamination. Cooking times in a recipe are a guide, not a guarantee.

If you have a medical condition, a food allergy, or you are pregnant, consult a qualified professional. This site is not a substitute for that.

Kashrut - what we claim and what we do not

Every recipe on this site was written to kosher rules: no pork, no shellfish, only fish with fins and scales, and no recipe mixes meat with dairy. Each recipe is marked Meat, Dairy or Parve. The Babylonian kitchen runs on oil, date syrup and tamarind rather than butter, so all but two of the pastries and sweets here are parve and can follow a meat meal - including kleicha, which is built on oil on purpose.

What we do not claim: this site carries no rabbinical certification and no kashrut supervision of any kind. It describes recipes; it does not grant a hechsher. The kashrut of the ingredients depends entirely on the supervision marked on the products you buy - meat, cheese, kaymar and vinegar in particular. If you keep kosher strictly, check the products and ask your own rabbinical authority.
